At the start of this year, instead of resolutions, I vowed to simply live, making the best out of each and every moment that life offers.
As an adult, one thing I haven’t done much of is traveling. I remember growing up, we would go on family vacation all the time — North Carolina during the summer, somewhere warm during the winter.
Somewhere along the way, this simply stopped.
Now that we’re in a new year, I want to make traveling part of the plans for 2019.
I want to see new places, traveling around the country and abroad.
Working in social media, sometimes I have to travel for different events or engagements that my clients may have.
This week, I made a quick stop to New York City. Although NYC is just an hour away from home, and I’ve been there multiple times, I decided to treat this business trip as a mini getaway.
So instead of coming straight home after the event, I decided to stay overnight at The Frederick Hotel.
I wanted this time to feel special, so I looked into hotels were a little more luxurious — without breaking the bank.
After some research, I landed on The Frederick Hotel.
Built in 1838, The Frederick Hotel is one of the oldest hotels in NYC. Although its undergone renovation throughout the years, the building still maintains its historic architecture.
While I love historic buildings, I still appreciate a more modern contemporary feel. I was pleasantly surprised to see decor that was a mix of both the old and the new.
Since it was just me, I decided to book a single room instead of a full suite. The room was the perfect size for a quick getaway from home. Take a peak at the images below to see for yourself:
Nice right? It was literally the perfect space, not too big and not too small.
In addition to amazing rooms, The Frederick Hotel is also hosts a restaurant called Serafina. Serafina is an authentic Italian restaurant located in the heart of Tribeca. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, as you can tell with this epic Love mural on the wall.
To make the trip even better, my friend Kristal came to visit. It was so nice catching up over breakfast…especially while eating good food.
I really enjoyed this trip, it was just what I needed to reset and refocus myself in the mix of being busy with work. I had such a great experience at The Frederick Hotel, the staff was pleasant and the food was great!
Where should I travel next? I’m serious about traveling to new places this year, let me know where my next trip should be. Oh, the places we will go!
Until Next Time,
Maya <3
