REVIEW | FIT ME SHINE-FREE FOUNDATION

I’ve been on a mission to find the perfect foundation — either it’s too light or too dark, too dry or too oily. I’ve spent years and money trying to find the right product that was best for my skin-tone and skin-type — I’ve finally found it! The Maybelline FIT Me Foundation Stick does exactly what its name says….it ‘FITs ME’.

First thing I love about this product is that it comes in many shades, so its not hard to find a shade that blends well to your skin-tone. Because I generally have dry skin, I try not to use matte products because it only dries my skin out further. However, from what I learned of this product before hand, The Maybellline FIT Me Foundation Stick has a creamy consistency that is okay for those with dry skin to use, even though it leaves a matte finish. NOTE: I’ve heard this product is not great for those who have oily skin, as supposedly it creates for any oily ‘icky’ finish.

I bought the product in two shades, one to use as a regular foundation (Cappuccino) and one to use as a highlighter (Toffee). I made sure my skin was well moisturized the night before to protect from further dryness…just to be on the safe side 😉

As soon as I applied the Maybelline FIT Me Foundation Stick, I FELL IN LOVE! The foundation went on silky smooth (like butter) and blended into my skin almost perfectly. What I loved the most is that it looked completely natural. You know how sometimes foundation can make you look fake and too made up? The FIT Me Foundation Stick gave such a natural finish that it almost looked as if I wasn’t wearing makeup at all, which is great because I am a firm believer of ‘less is more’.

What’s also great about the Maybelline FIT Me Foundation Stick is that it is long-lasting. I applied the foundation early in the morning, and it literally stayed on all day. All day long.

All-in-all, the Maybelline FIT Me Foundation Stick is a fantastic buy! There’s not one thing that I would change about this product. The consistency of it might still be a bit too dry for my skin-type, but all can be fixed by moisturizing my skin beforehand.

Short Version

Pros:

  1. Comes in a wide variety of shades
  2. Applies on smoothly
  3. Blends in extremely well
  4. It is long-lasting
  5. Great for highlight/contouring
  6. Its cheap!! I only paid $5 and some change at Target

Cons:

  1. Still a little too dry for my skin-type…but I can deal with that.
  2. I wish I had money to buy more 😛

I would love to hear some of your thoughts and opinions…perhaps you know of a better product?! Until then, the Maybelline FIT Me Foundation Stick is my ‘go-to’ item for a flawless foundation finish.

All the best,

<3

  1. Nice review. I just met with a local Celebrity Makeup Artist in the DC area who has her own line of stick foundations. I have been using them and they are very moisturizing. Her line is focused on women of color. You might want to try them. I did a review on the product on http://www.serenebeauti.com. Like you, I too am on the search for the perfect foundation for dry skin.
