Hey chickadee! How have you been? I’ve heard some of you had some snow over the weekend…how’s that for spring? Speaking of Spring, I have yet another look for you to try as we transition into warmer weather! Last week, I was inspired by Dia&Co. to try out this denim on denim look. I was skeptical at first, denim on denim is not something that I wear often. But you know me, I never shy from a challenge. I received so much positive feedback, which was such a relief…if you only knew how much I stressed trying to piece everything together.
Next I have something a little bit more ‘laid back’ — I ditched the heels — but still as glamourous. Remember that pink top from last week’s post? Well, I pulled it out again, this time keeping it as a dress. Simply put, this Everyday Midi Dress is one of my favorite items that I have in my closet. It’s super light and comfortable…it’s pink lol. Beyond that, it’s super versatile, you can wear it with just about anything.
One thing that I will say, if you are a little self-conscious about your midsection, make sure to wear comfortable undergarments. As great as this dress is, the material is thin, and will show every nook and cranny that you may have. Wearing a panty girdle, or even a slip, will help smooth things out just a bit. What’s most important is that you are comfortable, with or without undergarments…because remember, what will make any outfit ‘work’ is not what you wear, but how you wear it.
Because it’s still a little chilly outside, I decided to pair this dress with a maxi sweater vest that I received for Christmas. Like the dress, this vest is super chic and comfortable, but it is also very warm and cozy. It added just enough warmth that I felt comfortable walking around outside without an extra jacket. What I love most about this vest is it’s cut. If you look closely, you’ll see that it’s asymmetrical, offering a flattering silhouette for any body type.
And of course, to top it off, I had to include some accessories. I love matching a statement necklace to a casual outfit, again it’s all about balance. So I pulled out my pink pearl necklace and rose-gold diamond earrings to complete the look.
So, what do you guys think? Is this something that you would rock on a Saturday or during a brunch date with friends? Let me know, leave a comment below!
Until next time, <3
