What an adventurous week! Never before have I been so scared for my life, I literally thought I was going to die.
I live in an area where we are not used to tornadoes or extreme weather. Well, last Tuesday was an exception to the rule. We experienced what some are calling a small tornado, with 75+ winds. Cars were turned over and trees were knocked down, along with electrical wires and street lamps.
At one point I thought I was going to die. Looking back at it now, I know I was being a little dramatic, but I had never experienced such a storm, the winds and lighting were so powerful.
This experience gave me a whole new perspective on life. It reminded me that although we live big lives, our lives are actually very small and fragile. There are so many things that can happen in life that can easily end it. It is important to not take a second of our lives for granted — every second counts!
I also gained a new appreciation for those who live in the Midwest. I am sure the storm we had would seem tiny compared to their mighty storms. And the destruction that they see is nothing compared to the ‘destruction’ we saw on Tuesday.
So in short, all I want to say is thank you. Thank you Lord for your protection! Yes we have a few down trees and minor damage to our house, but the ‘bad’ could have been a lot worst.
I still have my life, my family (my dogs), and a place to lay my head at night. While we still have no light (no tv, no computers, etc.), I still have all that’s precious to me. Thank you Lord!
