“Where there is no vision, there is no hope…”
Hey guys! For quite some time now, I’ve been wanting to create a vision board…and here it is! This is the visualization of all my career and life goals. I have set this as the background on my computer, so whenever I turn on my laptop, the first thing I’ll see is this picture — reminding and motivating me to go after my dreams!
Life Goals
There are a lot of things in life that I want, however, family is what’s most important to me. While I am not ready to get married today, or tomorrow, I am ready to get started, finding the person who I am meant enjoy life with. For right now, this just means going out on dates and opening myself up to meet new people.
When I do find that person, I look forward to taking the next step with him. And all the wedding planning I’ll get to do!!! I can already picture what my wedding will look like, what colors my bridesmaids will wear, the beautiful flowers that we’ll have. Hopefully, I can make this a ‘completed goal’ in the next five years 😉
Above all else, I want a happy family with a bunch of little munchkins running around. I look forward to being with my family, instilling the same principles that my parents instilled in me. I want to be able to provide for my family, making sure we are living in the best neighborhood, with the best school system, with the best opportunities for my kids.
All this cost money, which leads me to my ‘career goals’.
Career Goals
These are my more immediate goals. You see that picture of Olivia Pope over there? That is what I want to be. No, I don’t want to work in politics, be in an affair with two men, be kidnapped and held for ransom, or constantly controlled by my criminal father. However, I do aspire to wear the ‘white hat’.
My dream is to be at the top of the Public Relations field, in charge of my own firm and catering to celebrity clients in the music and film industries. I would love to be featured in magazines and other publications for being at the top of my game — “Luzeriour PR” will be one of the firms listed in ‘10 Stellar PR Agencies Owned by Women‘.
I would also love to contribute to my first love of science, utilizing my skills and knowledge as a biology major. I want my PR firm to also focus on health communications, responsible for the PR/communications of major hospitals and health associations. I would then love to use this to give back into the community, letting them know of the latest health initiatives and information on how to protect their health.
Most importantly, I want to offer internships to those who are aspiring a career in Public Relations…this including those who are no longer college students and are wanting to change careers. I know how hard it is to get started in this career, so I would like to provide the opportunities that I would like to have in my PR journey.
You may have noticed that in the middle of all this, it says “God is able.” It is important that I keep God at the center of everything I do. Ephesians 3:20 is my favorite Bible verse. It reminds me that God is able to do “exceedingly and abundantly above all.” If I keep Him and His word at the center of my life, all of my dreams and visions are bound to happen in ways that I can’t even imagine.
I am excited to see what will happen in the next couple of years, and I will, of course, share these experiences with all of you! In the meantime, I encourage you to create your own vision boards and chart your own journey. Feel free to post your vision boards in the comments below, or post them on Facebook so that we can encourage each other to stay motivated and ‘get it done’.
Until Next Time,
<3
